About Siargao
Siargao is where the Philippines strips away all pretense and reveals its purest tropical soul. This teardrop-shaped island off the coast of Mindanao has long been known among surfers for Cloud 9, a world-class reef break that delivers perfectly hollow barrels. But Siargao is so much more than surfing. The island hopping here is among the best in the country, taking you to pristine sandbars, hidden lagoons, and uninhabited islets fringed by coconut palms. On land, the pace of life slows to a crawl. Motorbike through palm-lined roads to reach the surreal rock pools of Magpupungko at low tide, or paddle through the emerald waters of Sugba Lagoon. At night, the island comes alive with beachfront bars and barbecue. Siargao is still relatively undeveloped, giving it a raw, authentic energy that more commercialized destinations lost long ago.
